Your responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ).
  • Actively encourages and leads the HZI and Contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
  • Ensures relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into construction and, in consultation with site management and HSE team, that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
  • Responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under their control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised ·
  • Ensures risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
  • Ensures works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract, and conforms with project time and budget requirements. ·
  • Takes full ownership on the Civil operations, manages site supervision and sub-contractors to ensure timely delivery of relevant scope
  • Takes ownership on the Civil Turnover Packages (CTO) definition and in the determination of the relative Civil QC Inspection Process, checking of compliance of construction with scope and quality requirements ·
  • Takes ownership on establishing the Execution Progress Reporting ·
  • Takes ownership on execution meetings (Kick-off, weekly, monthly internal and external) ·
  • Defines organisational structure and manages the Civil Supervision Team ·
  • Interfaces with engineering to ensure buildability and on time delivery of design
  • Ensures proper support to the Contracts Management is given in the entire work scope handled under their lead
  • Keeps up to date with company and organisation practices, programmes and policies
  • Delivers Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects

Your experiences

  • University degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Previous experience as Superintendent or Supervisor EPC or Subcontractor Civil Company in the heavy/industrial civil business ·
  • Experienced as a leader in HSEQ Management and knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and Management System requirements ·
  • Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent ·
  • Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC), Safepass (ROI), CSCS or CCNSG card or equivalent ·
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite applications
  • Solution orientated and good forward planner ·
  • Good communicator and excellent motivational and leadership skills ·
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and to evaluate ideas of others ·
  • Good command of English, other languages an advantage
