Your responsibilities
For its engineering & construction activities, HZI relies on a portfolio of business tools and data bases, which is a combination of market products and in-house developments. The type of data processed and a range of application is broad and covers the finance needs of all functions of the company (engineering, supply chain, product & project management, finance & planification...)

As part of the team in charge of developing and maintaining a in-house tool portfolio and associated data bases for the company activities worldwide, your task will be more specific to:

As part of the team in charge of developing and maintaining a in-house tool portfolio and associated data bases for the company activities worldwide, your task will be more specific to:
- Maintenance and improvement of existing in-house tools (engineering, project management, health and safety)
- Taking specifications from business users and turning them into simple applications
- Working with existing applications to support users and develop new features
- Provide documentation and training on developed apps
- Ensure communication and training in the use of the application
- Feed the continuous improvement process of the application with the goal to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction
- To be aware of the HSE requirements relevant to the function, implements and complies with them
Your experiences
Job specific qualification
- Degree in Computer Sciences / software engineering with 5+ years of experience as Software developer, Systems or Data Engineer
- Specific IT knowledge and solid experience with the following software or platforms :
- Solid knowledge and experience in the field of web application development (frontend and backend)
- Knowledge of programming languages in general: Python (Flask, Pandas, Jupyter Notebooks), Javascript (React), SQL
- Knowledge of tools: VSCode, Git
- Knowledge of following programming languages/frameworks is a plus: C#/.NET, Xamarin
- Knowledge of mobile application development (iOS and Android) is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft SQL Server and Azure DevOps is a plus
- Experience working for a large, multi-location organization, managing design and construction projects, ideally in energy sector
- Good knowledge of project management and working with different project disciplines, multiple locations and cultures
- Knowledge of modeling of real world problems and processes (data and systems modeling)
- Willingness to work in a team as a team
- Ability to think outside the box and pick the right tool for the job
- Languages: English (spoken + written). German and other languages are a plus
