Your responsibilities

- Demonstrates leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encourages and leads the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
- Has overall responsibility for ensuring Company HSEQ Management Systems are maintained, reviewed and implemented on site and ensures that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
- Is responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under their control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised
- Leads and manages an interdisciplinary team 
- Contributes experience of putting into effect standardized methods in order to identify complex problems
- Develops guidelines and requirements 
- Ensures realization of existing contracts with site team to meet HSEQ, time and budget goals for each scope
- Collaborates within site and project team organization and specialist departments
- Co-ordinates the scope and interfaces of HZI consortium partners and contractors
- Documents and traces non-conformities, deviations and claims
- Schedules final erection inspections
- Provides overall assurance that actions arising from HSEQ inspections and audits are completed, closed and effective
- Ensures waste management is carried out in accordance with compliance requirements
- Co-operates with and exchanges experience with colleagues responsible for products and other project teams and departments 
- Progresses change requests (technical, time and costs) 
- Establishes lessons learned for current and future projects 
- Plans erection testing procedures
- Acts as point of contact for contractor's management
- Establishes and monitors key milestones
- Co-ordinates closely with the Engineering Procurement Commissioning (EPC) project team whilst managing contractors around the mechanical package installation 
- Concludes the project to the client's satisfaction i.e. involvement in snagging, commissioning and validation
- Delivers Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects
- Keeps the Project Director and Project Construction Manager informed of all site related activities
- Is aware of the HSE requirements relevant to their role, and implements and complies with them

Your experiences

- Degree or HNC/HND in building engineering, civil/structural engineering or construction related subject or alternatively experience working in the Energy from Waste / construction industry as a Site Engineer or similar position
- Several years‘ experience in construction of large industrial plants as Site Manager / Commissioning Supervisor 
- Experienced in the co-ordination of contracts and contract management
- Chartered Engineer Status (beneficial)
- Experienced as a leader of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management and has knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements 
- Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent 
- Solution orientated 
- Good forward planner
- Good communicator
- Excellent motivational and leadership skills
- Ability to present ideas effectively
- Able to evaluate ideas of others
- Negotiation skills
- Good command of English, other languages an advantage
