Your responsibilities
- Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ). Actively encourages and leads the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
- Responsible for ensuring all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into their area of responsibility and that, in consultation with site management and HSE team, HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
- Ensures that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
- Ensures works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract requirements, and conform with project time, budget and HSEQ requirements
- Responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under their control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised
- Reviews and approves the following:
- WPQRs, WPS o Welder’s Certification/Coding review
- Welding Operator’s Certification review (e.g. stud welding)
- Site Skills test (Pressure Parts)
- Welding book/welding history maintain
- NDE results
- Welding statistics/regular reporting
- Monitoring of % volumetric testing of welding
- Carries out spot checks of welding parameters (welder identity, preheat temperature, interpass temperature, issue and use of consumables, check root pass quality, post heating and post weld heat treatment as applicable).
- Monitors Post Weld Heat treatment activities and ensures that data is recorded and signed off
- Organise and supervise welding skills tests as specified by HZI procedures
- Keeps the Site Manager informed of all site related activities

- Knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements
- Experience as Piping Engineer or Quality Manager
- Familiar with common NDT, quality procedures and standards
- Experience in evaluation of RT films and other NDT results (level II)
- IOSH or equivalent international safety certificate as required
- Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC), Safepass (ROl), CSCS or CCNSG card or equivalent
- Solution orientated
- Good forward planner
- Good communicator
- Ability to present ideas effectively
- Ability to evaluate ideas of others
- Good command of English, other languages an advantage
